What is VeteranONE?

A self-sustaining student run Veteran Service organization to facilitate
the transition between military and academic environments.
The loud clear voice of student veterans past and present at UMass.
Is the expression of student veterans to this community and beyond.

How is this achieved?

We achieve our goals through a support network of veterans, service members, and civilians helping one other. VeteranONE’s focus is on veteran’s Outreach, Networking, and Empowerment.

What does it have to offer me?

VeteranONE provides you with important information (You may be eligible for a second welcome home bonus from the state of Massachusetts) social events, tailgates, a veteran voice within the UMass student community! VeteranONE provides an opportunity to speak out on
veteran’s issues, and even a big brother, big sister program for new veterans around the UMass community when you want one.

Why should I join?

Veterans are misunderstood and lost in the system all over the United States, and it even happens here at UMass. We at VeteranONE aim to prevent this from happening here where we can. You, or someone you are close to, paid for the education that you are here to receive with blood, sweat, and tears. Help us make it the best it can be for all veterans!

Who Can Join Us?

There are a thousand reasons to partake in fostering a strong student veteran community. VeteranONE can have every positive aspect of your military experience. This organizations membership is open to any uniformed services veteran, or any person who supports veteran’s issues, and attends UMass, or any of the five colleges, full or part time.

Meeting Times?

Meetings are typically every other Thursday at 7pm.

Please come by the Veteran Services office in room 231 of the Whitmore Administration Bldg on campus and chat with us! The meeting time and location is constantly updated on the board and the people there should be able to further direct you.

What is Omega Delta Sigma?

Omega Delta Sigma, National Veterans Fraternity operates as a student veteran service organization with the following primary goals:

A. To facilitate the transition from military life to collegiate life for servicemen and women, and to provide them a network of contacts.

B. To make significant contributions to the colleges and universities with whom its members are associated, to the communities in which its members reside, and to the great nation of the United States of America.

C. To promote the adoption of significant life goals by all members.

D. To foster the highest moral, intellectual, and social excellence by members educationally, professionally, and personally.

E. The union of all its members in a firm and enduring bond friendship and true brotherhood for life.

F. To always hold in highest regard the sacrifice that not only our members made, but all those before us, so that we may all live free together.

The Omega Delta Sigma Motto

Professional - A Professional is a civilized, educated, sensitive and well-mannered person. We are the elite of the University and carry ourselves in a way that honors our education, extracurricular and professions.

Scholar - Scholastic endeavors help keep the mind finely honed. The physical strength of a brother of Omega Delta Sigma is nothing without the pursuit of bettering themselves and society through scholarship. Without the awesome strength of the mind, the power of the body cannot be realized. It is because of this and the never-ending pursuit of excellence that a member of Omega Delta Sigma is, and always will be a scholar.

Warrior - The spirit of the warrior is the driving force within all brothers of Omega Delta Sigma. A brother’s word is their honor. His or her duty stays fresh on their mind. He or she lives life a little more seriously than most, but at the same time lives life to its fullest. He or she should see through the veil of appearances covering most parts of this world, but does so without looking down on those who are less perceptive. As a warrior we stand erect, our eyes always looking to the challenges tomorrow brings, and never back to the challenges faced prior.
